Saturday, January 19, 2008: Suppository Saturday

Well today has been a successful and moving day, if you know what we mean. HaHa! The nurses on this floor have been nothing but amazing. Julie has been taking pictures with them, and singing and dancing with them. The picture attached is a gift that Julie received and Matthew is loving it. (he presses the button, which makes the toy dance and sing, every chance he gets) Once again Julie wanted to thanks everyone, friends and family, for all their love and support. The flowers, cards, calls, and prayers have been very much appreciated. Also thank you to the laundry and house cleaning fairies who made sure that Julie came home to a clean and laundry free home. We are hoping to bust her out of the hospital by Monday, by the way that things have been going.

Friday, January 18, 2008: Finally Showered Friday

Julie is doing good today, she is off of her IV and is off the pain medication from another IV. She is taking a form of Vicadin now, and is quite hilarious on it. Jules got to shower and get all pretty today. She also had a massage today, as well as yesterday. She has a private room now, which is really nice because she gets more peace and quiet. Last night Jac stayed with her, and boy does she have some stories. Julie was singing Rod Stewart and Journey, and leaving some lucky people unforgettable and hilarious voicemails and phone calls. She started her clear liquid diet today and is eating chicken broth, jello, and flavored Italian ice. And we will leave you with one thought, if you thought she wa funny on champagne you should see her on pain pills. ... videos to follow! HaHa!!

Wednesday, January 16, 2008: Queen of Pink's Post

Good Afternoon, Good Evening and Hello!

My day began when a young man took me for some x-rays, he drove crazy but never hit anyone or anything. Came back and talk to the Dr.Morris, and he took that darn awful thing out of my nose finally. I also took three walks today to the end of the hallway and back. My mom and dad went back home :( I took some naps, finally got some sleep in this place. I eve got a foot and hand massage, and of course Dawn imposed and had some too. (The foot massage guy thought she was HOTT!!!) Dr. Chari, my gynie doctor, stopped by a couple times today to check out my battle wounds. (Jac lovessss them for some reason)

Special thank you to everyone that stopped by, called and sent flowers (they are beautiful, and my room smells the best on the floor, says all the nurses)!!!

That's all for now, talk to you all soon!

Monday, January 14, 2008: The Surgery Outcome

Going into the surgery it was known that there were cysts on both ovaries. During the surgery the surgeon, Dr.Morris, detected cancerous cells on the ovaries. Both of Julie's ovaries were removed, as well as other areas that the cancer spread to. Dr.Morris reported that he got 95-98% of the cancer cells out, and the rest will be fought off by chemotherapy. The treatments will start in 2-3 weeks following her surgery. That night Julie came out of surgery well and looked really good. The first thing she asked for was her glasses to see everyone in the room. HaHa! She even offered to drive Jac back up to school the next day. Please check back with us in a couple of days for more info and soon to come, a few words from the "Queen of Pink" herself, Jewels!!!

Tuesday, January 15, 2008: Day 1 Post Op

Julie is doing much better today. She looks a lot better and her coloring is very good. This afternoon they got her up and she took a couple of steps. She is now sitting up and her voice is much stronger. The IV is still in and she still has a nose drainage tube but hopefully it will be out sometime tonight.
