February 4, 2008 Meraculous Monday

I would like to start off with a poem written by Thelma Wells, it comes from the book Laughter & Latte, given to by my friend Gerri. It goes like this: When you have nothing
to laugh about, laugh anyway.
Soon you'll feel
the healing power
of joy and laughter
bringing new energy and life
to your weary,
frustrating day.

That is how Matt and I felt when we finally got the phone call from the doctor. Our prayers were answered and that they found it to be Colon Cancer and not stomach cancer. We don't know any chemo treatment details until next week. What a relief. We celebrated with a little bit of champagne.

I spent Superbowl Sunday with Ashlee and Cioci Sharon. Thanks for the good food and company. Ashlee was a big help in making cupcakes for my class. I loved the half time show Tom Petty. We even went on line today and bought tickets to his concert in May.

My afternoon was spent with telling my students about me. It went very well. They made me a beautiful scrapbook with a picture and a poem from each of them. Lunch was spent with the teachers, my second family. It was a baked potato luncheon. Thanks Christine. It was great seeing everyone.

So that is all for now. I will be writing later on this week.

Julie,
I'm glad that the information from your doctor was what we were hoping for. (strange thing to say about cancer, but everything is relative!) One more step on the journey, now the next phase of treatment and healing can begin!
It was good to see you at church yesterday. You look great and were able to make it through that long service with the added ceremony!
Talk to you soon.

I think about you and pray for you everyday. The news today was great! I know you will get through this one day at a time with your faith, courage, strength, and humor.
If you need anything, especially Olga's or Buddy's pizza, I'll be there for you! Ha! Ha! Truly, let me know if you need anything.(Even just to chat).

Best wishes, Christine

Hi Julie,
I am so sorry to hear about what you are going through. My prayer's are with you and your family. It has been a long time. I read about what happened to Jac, Shannon did the same thing comming home from school her freshman year...the fire dept. had to pull her out. It's really scary going off the road like that...I'm glad Jacqueline is ok. I just wanted to drop in and say hello and let you know we are thinking of you...Tell Jac that I said hi. I wish you the best in your recovery.
Love, Sheryl

Heard there is a new dance on Newport Street! Margaret felt it down the block! Seems a bit odd to say "Thank You Lord, for it's colon cancer!" Our God is an awesome one and is right by your side. Just like your St. Angela Family. (anytime for anything)
Thank you, Jewels for Wednesday. Loved the company, conversation and most of all your bright smile. See you tomorrow, don't forget you will have dinner!!
Love & Prayers,
Cindy

Hi Julie,
It was great to see you today and have a visit with the girls. You spoke about how certain people have truly moved you in your life, and I'll tell you that YOU ARE A MOTIVATION TO ME. Your strength and positivity radiate through to everyone around you. Keep that smile shining!!!! --Nicole
